Getting started with NOPKEY ID

Identify each physical security key, record where it is registered, and review backup-key gaps without storing credentials.

01

Add a security key

Scan or open its NOPKEY ID Label, sign in, give the key a recognizable name, and choose its physical model and role.

02

Record registrations

Select only the accounts and systems where that physical key is already registered. These records are entered by you; NOPKEY does not verify third-party services.

03

Add and review a backup key

Copy the Primary key’s registered systems as a review checklist. Copied items remain Needs review until you mark them Registered.

04

Compare key registrations

Use the Primary key as the reference and review every Backup, Recovery, or Admin key for missing registrations.

Registration status

What the labels mean

Registered

You recorded that this physical key is registered with the system.

Needs review

The item was copied or saved for checking later.

Missing

No registration is recorded for this key.

Lost and replacement

When a physical key or ID Label changes

Lost: changing a key to Lost shows a private return form when someone scans its ID Label.

Replace ID Label: replacing the NOPKEY ID Label keeps the security key record and registration history.

NOPKEY ID identifies and organizes the physical security key—not the credentials on it. FIDO private keys, passwords, PINs, passkeys, and recovery codes are never stored.
